Unexpected tools

Sometimes when working with leather you have to get creative.  That is especially true when you need to hold two pieces of material together for sewing or bonding.  Unlike when working with fabrics such as a cotton twill or a polyester woven, traditional straight pins are not your best friend.  Once a hole is made in leather it's there for good.

So, what to do?

I've had great success with, wait for it, clothes pins! Binder clips also work wonders on projects requiring a little more gripping power.  What's also perfect is that both these items come in multiple sizes.  I've added some pics so you can see them in use :)

As always, thanks for reading!
